Duluth Minnesota’s Low brought a powerful show to a sold-out Larimer Lounge this past Friday the 13th. The Sub Pop veterans brought out shoegazers seeking downtempo, hard hitting music, and all left satisfied as the band effortlessly hit hard in the best and most nonchalant way possible, bringing mesmerizing moments that proved why they have remained a fixture of the scene for so long.

Gregory Alan Isakov – August 4th – Boulder Theater

Estimated read time 4 min read

A sold-out crowd wrapped around the corner of 14th & Spruce in anticipation of hometown hero Gregory Alan Isakov’s CD Release show at Boulder Theater. After years of waiting patiently for the follow up to 2009 masterpiece, the day had finally arrived. The evening was a great mix of old and new. Gregory joked “We’ve been trying these out on you for years,” which is certainly the case for songs like “Amsterdam” and “The Universe” – both of which made an appearance during Sunday’s show.

Father John Misty – November 2nd – The Bluebird Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

The sold-out Bluebird was crowded and in high spirits as twenty and thirty-somethings finished their cigarettes, grabbed drinks from the bar, and got ready for the songs of Father John Misty’s recent release, Fear Fun. Mudhoney was the first real success story for Sub Pop Records; their indie-scene success laid the groundwork for the movement that would (briefly) make Seattle, WA the new capital of the rock & roll universe.

The Head & The Heart – October 10th – The Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 5 min read

The Head And The Heart played to a sold-out house at The Gothic on Monday. The harmonies were tight, the songs were played energetically, and throughout the hour-long set the sold-out crowd got exactly what they were expecting. They have set the bar pretty high for the next time around, but judging by the new tunes they featured, they should be able to live up to it.

The Head and The Heart Are Exploding Into The Mainstream

Estimated read time 6 min read

Seattle’s critically acclaimed and much buzzed folk-pop sextet The Head and The Heart is a very young band by most standards, having only been together for a little over a year, but they are working hard to avoid the pitfalls of the road and staying focused on the two things that mean the most to them: their friendship and the music they love to play together.
