The Flaming Lips with The Colorado Symphony – May 26th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Although copious amounts of rain had recently fallen from the sky, it could not put a damper on the pageantry and spectacle that is a Flaming Lips show with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks. The weather did cause a bit of a logistical nightmare for the production crew as they scurried about the stage making sure that all the wires were straight. Was everything going to work? We were about to find out.

The String Cheese Incident – December 29th – 1stBank Center

The air was thick with hype as the 1stBank Center filled to a healthy volume early last Sunday. Smiling fans of The String Cheese Incident poured in the doors as the locally-loved band prepared for the second night of their three-part NYE run armed with The Flaming Lips as an explosive opening act and the horns section of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and other special guests during the main act. Together, the varied acts offered a ticket that offered spectacle, musical variety, and amazing talent.

The final night of the first Snowball Festival in Avon featured a headlining performance from The Flaming Lips. In a steady snowstorm, the Lips delivered their wild and circus-like show with every ounce of vigor they had, despite the frigid temperatures.
