When two bands called The Salmon Heads and Left Hand String Band came together 25 years ago on a fateful New Year’s Eve, there was no such thing as “jamgrass;” the term “jamband” hadn’t even been coined yet and groups that would come to define the genre were in their infancy or not yet born. Leftover Salmon would come to be one of those defining groups.

Smooth Money Gesture is infectious Groove Funk with ear twitching space jams, face melting solos, and tight rhythmic changes. The sextet’s sound is rooted in Rock and Roll with elements of Funk, Bluegrass, Metal, and Electronica producing a jam based high energy psychedelic creation all their own. The band released their debut CD “The Grand Scubian: Evolution” the year and Guitarist Doug Dominico recently sat down with Listen Up Denver! to answer our 20 Questions and talk a little about what’s in store for next year.
