Summergrind – August 16th – Gothic Theatre

On August 16th, droves of Denverites came out for the Punk/Ska/Rock extravaganza that is the SummerGrind festival. The one day event, featuring 25 bands spread across three venues on S. Broadway in Englewood, was jam-packed with great acts – including big names like Morning Glory, Reno Divorce and The Suicide Machines, and a whole deluge of amazing local acts, creating a perfect storm of musical mayhem. Though it was hot at the outdoor stage, the AC in the Gothic offered a welcome retreat into a whole other world of madness.

Leftover Crack – December 28th – Gothic Theatre

Angry and cold crust punks braved a snowy winter Saturday night to see their favorite Skunk Rock band, Leftover Crack, in Englewood at The Gothic Theater along with openers The Rotten Blue Menace, Truckasaurus, and The Repercussions. As the evening progressed, the crowd warmed to a rage. When it was all said and done fans left the theater sweaty and bruised, but with smiles on their faces, due to a superb performance from Leftover Crack.

The Bastard Suns – April 20th – The Marquis Theatre

Move over Peter Cottontail, Easter isn’t the only holiday in April anymore. April 20th has evolved into a counterculture holiday, especially here in Colorado, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis. Staying with the holiday theme, Friday’s show at the Marquis Theatre was headlined by Silver Surfer Vaporizer sponsored band The Bastard Suns. Including the encore their set consisted of twenty-two songs. We are here to tell you they might just be the best thing to come out of Georgia since Coca-Cola and Wafflehouse.
