The Tallest Man on Earth – March 22nd – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

Last Tuesday marked the Denver return of The Tallest Man on Earth. I’ve been waiting to see Kristian Matsson (aka The Tallest Man on Earth) for quite a while now. I had seen him in 2013, missed him in 2015, and I was eagerly anticipating his September 2019 show at The Mission Ballroom but that got cancelled (before we got used to EVERYTHING be cancelled ALL THE TIME), so when this show was announced, I knew I couldn’t miss it.

The Tallest Man On Earth – August 26th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 5 min read

An afternoon high of 97 turned the packed Ogden into an oven and it only got hotter as the theater filled in for Swedish folk singer, The Tallest Man On Earth. Kristian Matsson made a name for himself through raw, solo records and performances but arrived in Denver with a full band and a new sound this past week. Old songs were given new life by a big band, but the most memorable moments still came in the form of roaring solo performances.

PICK OF THE WEEK: The Tallest Man On Earth – Ogden Theatre – Wednesday, August 26th

Estimated read time 2 min read

His guitar playing is effortless and while his voice isn’t silky smooth, it’s genuine and passionate. It’s these kinds of qualities, coupled with songs that are at once current and timeless, that make The Tallest Man on Earth such a powerful force. Don’t miss what is sure to be an incredible performance on Wednesday at The Ogden Theatre.

Laura Marling & Phosphorescent – October 28th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

The intimate eTown Hall was filled with those abreast of the indie folk scene last Monday night for a daringly intimate performance from British singer-songwriter Laura Marling and indie rock act Phosphorescent. The two-hundred seat eTown Hall is one of the most intimate venues in Colorado, and regularly draws artists capable of selling out venues several times its size for the recording of the weekly eTown radio broadcast. Last Monday the crowd sat so remarkably silent that the delicate voices of both performers felt as if they were alone in the room.
