Billy & The Kids – July 13th – Red Rocks Amphitheater

Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann put together his Billy and The Kids project back in 2014 for Warren Haynes’ Christmas Jam and while the band played a smattering of shows over the next two years they hadn’t played together since 2016 when the took to a Hawaiian lawn in May for a pair of live-streamed show to celebrate the legendary drummer’s 75th birthday. Joining original “Kids” Tom Hamilton, Reed Mathis, and Aron Magner for these shows was Billy Strings on guitar, and James Casey on Sax. The shows were an overwhelming success and it came as a welcome surprise when Red Rocks announced a pair of concerts with the same powerhouse line-up.

A brisk night greeted Thievery Corporation as they brought their worldly sounds to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for their sixth headlining performance at the venue. Thievery Corporation is celebrating 20 years as a band and they have built a phenomenal fan base across Colorado with consistently stellar concerts. There was no shortage of early enthusiasm this year as the desperate search for tickets for the sold-out night was ongoing in the parking lot before the show.

An air of mystical excitement filled Red Rocks on Friday the 13th. The curious date was met with another peculiar happening: a full moon, a combo which won’t be seen again until 2049. All of this made for a fantastic yet somewhat eerie mood within the crowd. Put it together with the enchanting Electronic World Dance music of Thievery Corporation at the world famous venue Red Rocks and what do you get? “It’s going to be spiritual,” I heard one guy say. His prediction was spot-on.

The Disco Biscuits Return To Colorado With Their First-Ever Winter ‘Bisco Inferno’

After a year hiatus, The Disco Biscuits are bringing their legendary Bisco Inferno back to Colorado this weekend! Austin Texas is commonly known as the “Live Music Capital of The World” and since 1976 the great live music program “Austin City Limits” has aired on PBS. Though this program was originally intended to showcase the music of Texas it has grown exponentially and eventually blossomed into the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It’s only been 11 years, but ACL has gained a reputation as the premiere music lover’s festival and has cemented Austin as the greatest music town in the universe.

Thievery Corporation & Beats Antique – August 10th – Red Rocks

Thievery Corporation put on one of their strongest shows in recent memory at Red Rocks on Friday night. With the help of Beats Antique and an amazing set from the upstart Funk collective Afrolicious, the five hour party blended sounds from the Middle East, the worlds of Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Acid House to give that uniquely Thievery feeling to the night. They may not be the highest energy band out on the scene right now, but there is no doubt Thievery Corporation knows how to throw a party!
