Made in America featuring Cash Cash & The Floozies – June 19th – Fillmore Auditorium
Cash Cash and The Floozies turn up the beat for the Denver stop of Budweiser’s 2014 Made in America concert series. It brought trending sounds to a dynamic crowd and turned up the heat for what is going to be an epic summer in Denver. Everyone had a great time and it showed on social media days after the event like being the coolest summer house party with the loud music, contagious energy, and an endless supply of Budweiser.
The Love Shack – February 14th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom
Valentine’s Day may be a “Hallmark Holiday” but music was in the air at Cervantes’ Ballroom this year and whether they were in love or looking for love, out of love or in lust, the nearly capacity crowd came to party at “The Love Shack,” the newest themed superjam dance party from the guys over at J2G Live. David Murphy and members of The Disco Biscuits, The Motet and countless other bands proved this wasn’t just another jam session as they delivered the goods.
The Floozies & Manic Focus – December 14th – Bluebird Theatre
The double feature of The Floozies and Manic Focus at the Bluebird Theater last Friday night led to a sold out show thanks to some last minute promoting by the GriZ family. There were few in the audience that had 21+ wristbands, which isn’t strange for these wompadelic shows. We all know that EDM is the outlet for the Y generation; however, this show brought even the youngest of the Z generation crawling to the front of the stage. Flat brimmed hats and glittered eyes were the staple of this evening’s attire.
PICK OF THE WEEK: Umphrey’s McGee – March 9th – The Fillmore
Fans who have followed Umphrey’s McGee for any period of time know that there are only two guarantees: you never know what you’re going to get, and Umphrey’s always delivers. Whereas this band’s stellar reputation is based on marathon concerts that mix original, technically demanding tunes with complex epics and, playful covers (ranging from Toto to Metallica), it has chosen the same kind of attention to melody, songcraft, and musicianship that make those artists stand apart.
