Widespread Panic – June 28th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Ah, another Sunday afternoon on the The Rocks with Widespread Panic. After two great nights under the stars, the band’s Sunday show to wrap up the run has become a fixture on the Red Rocks summer schedule. The show brings out longtime fans who aren’t up for a late night anymore, families exposing their kids to Panic for the first time, and of course those who would “never miss a Sunday show” – for good reason.

Pops Staples – “Don’t Lose This”

One of the coolest albums of 2015 so far also has one of the coolest stories behind it. Before Roebuck “Pops” Staples, the patriarch of the iconic Staples Singers, passed away in 2000, he gave his daughter Mavis a record which contained “Pops” singing and playing guitar. While in his final days, “Pops” told Mavis to look after the record he recorded, telling Mavis, “Please don’t lose this.”

Drive-By Truckers – April 19th – Fillmore Auditorium

The Fillmore was awash in whiskey and weed as the Denver faithful eagerly awaited the cities first legal 4/20 celebration. Though this show wrapped up before the clock struck the first second of April 20th, anticipation was in the air as the Drive-By Truckers brought their own brand of Southern Rock and Roll to one of the biggest Front Range rooms they have played in a long time.
