Steel Panther – May 7th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

Take three-parts huge 1980’s hair, toss in a bushel of big boobs and torn, low cut, tee shirts. Add in a dollop of crazy colors, a dash of bandannas, and then top it off with a helping of loud metal music and lots of sexually charged lyrics. If that’s not enough for you, you might stir in some rabid screaming fans and even an onstage marriage proposal for good measure. Put it all in Denver’s Ogden Theatre for 90 minutes at about 100° and you have yourself a piping hot, ready to serve Steel Panther show in all it’s glory.

Pixies – February 13th – Fillmore Auditorium

Estimated read time 1 min read

Alternative rockers Pixies rocked The Fillmore on Thursday night in front of a packed house of adoring fans. Original and founding members Black Francis and Joey Santiago were joined by their original drummer David Lovering for the night’s festivities. Noticeably the bands original bassist Kim Deal was not in the lineup, as she left the band in 2013. Fact is however, her replacement on this tour, Paz Lenchantin, is perfectly capable of filling Kim’s shoes, and she did just that. Composed and talented, she meshed perfectly with the rest of the band.

Muse – September 17th – The Pepsi Center

Estimated read time 1 min read

British rock band Muse brought their hardcore fans and a gigantic LED pyramid to Denver last Tuesday when they played a loud, high-energy set at The Pepsi Center. The trio played a 19 song set that included the bombastic opener “Supremacy” that started the night off with a bang. Judging from the fact that there were both men and women crying when the band came on stage there’s not much argument to be made that Muse has a very faithful following, and is one of the better live acts touring today.
