Furthur – September 22nd – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 2 min read

Furthur rolled into Colorado for a late summer run of shows at Red Rocks last week and though it was late in September, the weather was perfect for face melting. Bob Weir and Phil Lesh have surrounded themselves with a young, energetic group of players who have, with some sage guidance, re-animated the Grateful Dead catalog beautifully. They seemed to channel the energy of the ’89 Dead in both vigor and accuracy and even managed to breathe new life into “Dark Star.”

They got the modest crowd dancing as they showed us an energy and “oneness” on stage that prove they have the best parts of Grateful Dead vibe down pat.

Furthur – February 11th – 1st Bank Center

Estimated read time 5 min read

As you can imagine with a Grateful Dead related show, it was a scene loaded with hippies . . . young and old . . . lots of good natured, fun loving, hippies.  There were Moms and Dads with their teenagers, there were teenagers who were there on their own, and there were plenty of Baby Boomers reliving their youth and having a blast doing it.
