The Infamous Stringdusters – April 12th – Ogden Theatre

Saturday at the Ogden Theatre was expected to be a night of good ole’ Bluegrass. The Infamous Stringdusters have earned quite a following in Colorado, going head-to-head with Colorado locals such as Leftover Salmon. The ‘Dusters, hailing from Virginia, came to Denver last weekend with gusto, ready to impress the Rocky Mountain Bluegrass fans. The crowd was just large enough that there was plenty of room to dance comfortably.

Infamous Stringdusters – February 15th – Aggie Theatre

Fort Collins is known worldwide as a beer, biking and music lover’s paradise. The music side of the equation was fulfilled in excellent fashion last weekend as the Infamous Stringdusters 2014 Ski Tour made a stop at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins for two nights. Since their inception in 2007, the Dusters fan base has continued to multiply with every tour and sold-out performance. Saturday’s show was a whirlwind 28-song marathon that had the packed crowd giddy from the start.

Yarn – December 13th – Cervantes’ Other Side

Brooklyn band Yarn made a stop at Cervantes’ Other Side last Friday evening and brought with them vibrant personality and energy, igniting a smallish crowd of devoted “Yarmy” that traveled from as far away as Utah and Pennsylvania to see their favorite band perform. Since their inception in 2007, Yarn has become one of the hardest touring bands of this generation. The band’s sound straddles the divide between Bluegrass, Americana and Jam; the result is extremely pleasing to the ears and the soul.

Whitewater Ramble – Roots & Groove

One of the most difficult juggling acts any Jamband has to perform involves the translation of the energy, passion, and improvisation of a live show into a studio album. While most bands try and make a distinction between “studio” and “live,” Whitewater Ramble has done a damn near perfect job of combining the two with their most recent album, Roots & Groove. This latest effort from the Fort Collins quintet captures the “high-octane” feel of their live shows, while at the same time crafting a cohesive and meaningful studio record.

Yonder Mountain String Band – August 20th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

This past Saturday at Red Rocks marked the return of Colorado favorites Yonder Mountain String Band to the famed Front Range concert venue. Yonder was joined by bluegrass traditionalists The Infamous Stringdusters and East Coast Americana New Grass masters, Railroad Earth. For many people in this area, Yonder’s annual throwdown at Red Rocks is a highlight of their summer and this year was no different.
