Widespread Panic – June 29th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 5 min read

Panic lore states “never miss a Sunday show” and that proved to be good advice this year! There is just something different about catching a Red Rocks show in the middle of the day, something that feels like vacation. Good vibes and bubbles hung in the air as white fluffy clouds floated across the deep blue sky and The Rocks looked even redder than usual. Sure, it was hot, like mid-90’s hot, but it wasn’t anything a few ice cold beers and some great music couldn’t fix.

Anders Osborne – May 30th – Bluebird Theater

Estimated read time 3 min read

A sold-out sign hung in the box office window at The Bluebird as a who’s-who of the Denver music scene rubbed shoulders with veterans of many-a Grateful Dead tour. Anders Osborne has been steadily gaining more and more fans here in Colorado with his annual appearances at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival along with regular stops here on the Front Range. His brand of Rock-n-Roll is something that Coloradoans can really relate too and proves, yet again, that the Colorado – New Orleans connection is alive and well.

PICK OF THE WEEK: Assembly of Dust – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom – Friday & Saturday January 17th & 18th

Estimated read time 1 min read

Over the last ten years Assembly of Dust has crafted a unique sound that recalls the likes of The Band, Traffic and Neil Young. Assembly of Dust – January 12th – Summit Music Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

The mood in Denver was a bit mellow last Saturday after the Broncos disappointing performance in their playoff game earlier in the day and, frankly, the bitter cold weather didn’t help warm spirits much. What did help was a great performance from Assembly Of Dust at Summit Music Hall. They work so hard at what they do and while they aren’t a household name, they should be. It was great to dance alongside people out here in Colorado who recognize how great they are!

Assembly of Dust has a sound that recalls the likes of The Band and Neil Young, but they have taken that early 70’s Americana sound and put their own contemporary spin on it.
