Estimated read time 1 min read

Conscious Alliance and Elephant Revival will present the Buffalo Heart Concert at Boulder, CO’s Boulder Theater on April 30. Funds raised at the Buffalo Heart Concert will help keep Conscious Alliance’s emergency food storage facility stocked on the Pine Ridge Reservation, which is located in one of the most isolated regions of the country. Elephant Revival and Conscious Alliance previously teamed up for a night of music in South Dakota to benefit the nonprofit’s efforts on the Pine Ridge Reservation. The show will also benefit Lakota Youth Programs in the summer that will focus on the preservation of Lakota tradition.

In addition to Elephant Revival, the April 30 benefit will feature John Oates, The Plenty Wolf Singers, The Dovekins and special guest Nat Keefe (Hot Buttered Rum). Oates recently sat in with moe. and Umphrey’s McGee in his hometown in Aspen, CO.

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
