John Moreland will be performing at High-Dive in Denver, CO on May 7th. Showtime is 8:30 PM.  Moreland is touring in support of his highly anticipated third solo album, High On Tulsa Heat, which will be released on April 21st via Thirty Tigers.  Self-produced and recorded in a home studio in Oklahoma, High on Tulsa Heat offers another round of the lyrics-first, gorgeously plaintive songs that have earned him devoted listeners across the country.

As other songwriters bury experiences and stifle regrets, Moreland pokes old wounds until you’re sure they’ve got to be bleeding again. It’s painful. But in Moreland’s care, it’s also breathtakingly beautiful. When the Tulsa-based artist unveiled In the Throes in June of 2013, the album didn’t just charm listeners — it stunned them. American Songwriter, No Depression, and others began urging people to pay attention, as hit FX television series Sons of Anarchy featured three Moreland tracks.  Loud bar-room chatter and clanking glasses become silent when the 29 year old opens his mouth and begins to sing, and his songs are clearly connecting with people, earning him a steadily growing fan-base around the country.

Nate Todd

Nate Todd was born on the central plains of Nebraska, but grew up on the high plains of the Texas panhandle. With not much to do in either place, music was his constant companion. His parents dubbed the first two albums he ever owned onto a tape for him. Side A was Bert and Ernie’s Sing Along. Side B was Sgt. Peppers. His lifelong love affair with music started early as he practically grew up in a Rock & Roll band, with his father and uncle often taking him out on the road or into the studio with them. Nate began performing live at sixteen and hasn’t looked back, having played in numerous bands from L.A. to Austin. At the age of twenty he was bitten by the writing bug, and upon moving to Denver decided to pursue a degree from Metropolitan State University where he recently graduated with a B.A. in English and a minor in Cinema Studies.
