many, many more still to be announced…

This initial lineup represents less than half of the artists on the complete lineup.  Planet Bluegrass will continue to announce additional artists, leading up to the complete single-day lineup early this spring.

Set along the banks of the St. Vrain River in the small town of Lyons (about 20 minutes north of Boulder), the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival presents songwriters from around the musical and geographic world for the 3-day “summit on the song.”  About a third of the Folks “festivarians” camp at one of 3 different campgrounds adjacent to the festival grounds along the St. Vrain River.  Many festivarians arriving days before the festival to share in late-night campground song circles.  Single-day tickets are also available.  In recent years the festival has sold-out with a capacity of 4,000 per day.

Unlike many larger festivals, the relatively intimate Folks Festival presents artists on a single main stage.  The community of Festivarians share in the days’ music from their tarps or chairs placed directly in the St. Vrain River.  The festival also offers numerous kids activities (kids 12 and under are free) as well as the nationally-recognized Songwriter Showcase songwriting contest and workshop performances in the Wildflower Pavilion.

Nate Todd

Nate Todd was born on the central plains of Nebraska, but grew up on the high plains of the Texas panhandle. With not much to do in either place, music was his constant companion. His parents dubbed the first two albums he ever owned onto a tape for him. Side A was Bert and Ernie’s Sing Along. Side B was Sgt. Peppers. His lifelong love affair with music started early as he practically grew up in a Rock & Roll band, with his father and uncle often taking him out on the road or into the studio with them. Nate began performing live at sixteen and hasn’t looked back, having played in numerous bands from L.A. to Austin. At the age of twenty he was bitten by the writing bug, and upon moving to Denver decided to pursue a degree from Metropolitan State University where he recently graduated with a B.A. in English and a minor in Cinema Studies.
