boygenius – August 5th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The girls of boygenius are no strangers to the stage. Although still in their twenties, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus have been writing music and playing shows since their teens. All three artists have performed in front of Colorado fans since 2016, gracing stages at the likes of Lost Lake Lounge, Globe Hall, Bluebird Theatre, The Ogden, Mission Ballroom, and Red Rocks. Then, in 2018 that they joined as a band; united by a love for each other’s music coupled with their disgust with how “women in music” were defined and pitted against each other.

Patterson Hood – December 18th – Globe Hall

Patterson Hood, frontman of the Drive-By Truckers, played his next-to last show of the decade at Globe Hall for a devoted Denver audience as he wrapped up his solo acoustic tour. As he made his way through the set he spoke candidly to the audience as he always does, an endearing trait that has helped build his fanbase over the years.

Holly Bowling – February 1st – The Bluebird Theater

Last Thursday night, innovative Piano virtuoso Holly Bowling made her headlining debut in Denver with a sold-out performance at The Bluebird Theater. Bowling has made a name for herself over the past couple of years for her masterful interpretations of Phish and Grateful Dead music arranged for solo piano. While she burst onto the scene with a wonderfully re-imagined take on Phish’s legendary “Tahoe Tweezer,” Bowling also works her magic on the tunes of Garcia, Hunter, Weir, Barlow and others.
