Bob Weir & Wolf Bros – June 8th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

There was one line that was running through my head all night – and yes, it’s a little cheesy but I couldn’t shake it – Weir Back! From the opening notes of “New Speedway Boogie” it was apparent that not only were the Deadheads back in force, but so was Bobby. Looking to be in great shape both physically and vocally, Weir’s choice of songs to open his first show back from the pandemic was no happenstance as the opening trio all contained references to the odd year we’ve all endured together, and apart.

Bob Weir & Wolf Brothers – October 29th – Paramount Theatre

Estimated read time 2 min read

Bob Weir was here last Monday and we were there to catch him at the Paramount Theater with his new band Wolf Brothers. Not many people have had careers as prolific as Weir, and he shows no signs of stopping. This 3-piece iteration of Bob’s favorite cowboy songs was a slam dunk, both and depth of players and in quality of song choices. Bob is singing well and, despite the occasional missed lyric he is so well known for, his vocals were on point.

The Avett Brothers – July 11th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

Rain didn’t damper spirits on Friday evening as The Avett Brothers kicked off a three-night run under the stars at Red Rocks Amphitheater. For Friday’s show, the Avett boys wrangled Bob Weir and Ratdog off their summer tour for an opening slot at the iconic venue. The Avett Brothers have the rare ability in the music world to make you feel their emotions through song and dance. The maturity and mellow nature of the crowd doesn’t hurt either.
