Moon Taxi – November 5th – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

November is one of the best months for live music in Denver and this past Thursday night was a perfect example as Nashville-based indie/jam rockers, Moon Taxi, returned to the Mile High City. The quintet has seen a steady rise in their Denver fan base since first playing Moe’s Original BBQ almost 10 years ago. After that show lead singer Trevor Terndrup saw the Gothic marquee and said “One day, we will get to play in a place like that.” Thursday night was the realization of that dream.

Telluride Blues & Brews – September 12th, 13th, 14th – Telluride, CO

Estimated read time 15 min read

The Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is a one-of-a-kind music meets beer experience. Sure there are festivals all summer long in this idyllic little mountain town, but none of them blend two things so suited for each other: world class Blues music and world class beer. While it’s a must-see bucket-list trip for a lover of either of the festival’s main attractions, it’s also the kind of place that welcomes newbies with open arms, full glasses, and three solid days of music.

Peter Frampton – August 20th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 1 min read

Last week Peter Frampton’s Guitar Circus rolled into Red Rocks with a promise of some serious guitar heroics. Headlining the night, Frampton played a set that was light on the crowd pleasing hits but heavy on the scorching licks. While some were disappointed that Frampton didn’t play an all “Greatest Hits” show, others were thrilled that he dazzled them with some deep cuts and covers including a encore of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” that featured David Hidalgo and Sonny Landreth.

B.B. King – August 20th – Red Rocks Amphitheater

Estimated read time 3 min read

Last week Peter Frampton’s Guitar Circus rolled into Red Rocks and it brought with it an eager crowd of Baby Boomers who were on the edges of their seats in anticipation of some serious guitar heroics. While there were some fireworks from opener Sonny Landreth and headliner Peter Frampton, the man many had come to see was a bit of a let down and the crowd was painfully aware of it. No it wasn’t that he couldn’t play those signature licks, it’s just that he chose not to.

Peter Frampton – March 27th – The Paramount Theatre

Estimated read time 6 min read

Hundreds of baby-boomers crowded the landmark Paramount Theatre on Tuesday night for a trip back to a different time. The show was a celebration of the 35th anniversary of Peter Frampton’s “Frampton Comes Alive!,” the best selling record of 1976 and still one of the best selling live records to date. Couples who likely hadn’t given the double LP a spin in a decade or two packed the historic theater and were entertained by a big screen on stage playing a slideshow of black and white and sepia tone images of their huge-haired icon.
