  • In 1962 James Brown played The Apollo in New York City and a young Charles Bradley was there taking it all in.  That show must have made a huge impression on the young man, because what I witnessed on stage on September 13th had the same energy and showmanship that I personally had only seen from the Godfather of Soul himself.  He's not the second coming of James Brown, he may be better!

  • Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings brought their Super Soul Revue to a criminally undersold Botanic Gardens on Wednesday night.  Despite the empty seats, the band didn't hold back at all and delivered a two hour set that surely had many in attendance running home to tell all their friends about their new favorite band.
