Today, WinterWonderGrass Colorado is excited to announce the addition of The Wood Brothers to the 2022 festival lineup, marking the band’s return to the festival for the first time since 2016. The highly-anticipated return of the Colorado-edition of the festival is set to take place over February 25–27, 2022 at Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Weekend passes to the festival, as well as tickets to the Mountaintop Dinner* featuring a performance by The Travelin’ McCourys, are on sale now.

“We’re very excited for a triumphant return to WinterWonderGrass! We’ll be there with bells and long Johns on,” The Wood Brothers share enthusiastically. Bassist Chris Wood, who first rose to fame with the pioneering trio Medeski Martin & Wood, adds, “My brother [Oliver] came to this band from the blues and gospel world, and my history was all over the map with jazz and R&B. The idea for [The Wood Brothers] has always been to marry our backgrounds, to imagine what might happen if Robert Johnson and Charles Mingus had started a band together.”

Tickets will remain at their lowest price point until midnight on November 24th, when the 4th and final headliner is revealed. However, the highly-anticipated return of WinterWonderGrass Colorado has already sold out of VIP tickets and GA tickets are moving fast, making it very likely the festival sells out for its ninth consecutive year. Fans who do not want to miss out are encouraged to purchase their tickets soon. Although VIP tickets are already sold out, fans can sign up to snag tickets via the festival’s official fan-to-fan ticket exchange, powered by Lyte. Tickets and more information are available here.

Additionally, Steamboat Resort is expecting a fruitful year of snow, meaning the slopes will not disappoint for those planning to ski and snowboard throughout the weekend. As such, lodging is moving quickly and travel arrangements should be made accordingly to ensure no one who wants to attend the return of WinterWonderGrass Colorado misses out. More information on lift tickets* and lodging is available here.

2022 marks a decade and the ninth installment of WinterWonderGrass Colorado—the very first presentation of the festival took place in the winter of 2013 in a parking lot in Edwards , CO. Over the last decade, the festival grew, added new stops—including Tahoe, CA—and withstood the test of a global pandemic, which encouraged festival’s presenters to re-imagine how to connect fans and musicians outside in the wide open spaces of Colorado. WinterWonderGrass Colorado 2022 is no different.

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
