Whether you subscribe to the idea of mass consciousness or not, there is no denying the amount of energy in the air as you exit the highway and come upon the front gate of Shadow’s Ranch that reads “Sonic Bloom.” In nearly a decade Sonic Bloom has grown from a small, relatively unknown gathering to one of the premier boutique transformational festivals. Riding on the heels of a sold-out 2012, this year’s Bloom had quite the shoes to fill.

Random Rab & Bluetech – April 5th – Cervantes’ Ballroom

Years ago a seed was planted on a mountain next to a river and into the collective consciousness of music freaks. It was watered regularly, eventually taking root and each year since it has grown, budded and left all of those aware with an even bigger Sonic Bloom than the last. As the winter comes to its end, and the spring does what it has to do, there is a buzz forming while the pollen spreads and last Friday the first Sonic Bloom pre-party transported a packed Cervantes’ to another world.

Ott & The All Seeing I – February 8th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

The vibe on the street in front of Cervantes’ was warm, cheery and full of smiles last Friday night as fans were prepping for some release after the work week. Excitement was thick in the air as the crowd shuffled under the marquee into the Masterpiece Ballroom. This was the first test of Denver’s hallowed musical grounds for Ott’s new live show, and fans packed the house to see what they had in store.

ill.Gates – November 15th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

ill.Gates has consistently been on the forefront of the EDM scene, both producing and educating upstart musicians throughout the last decade and last Thursday night he preached the good word of music to a willing congregation at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on his Church of Bass Tour. Debuting his new light setup, he managed to run his own audio and visual at the same time, and kept the crowd bouncing for 2 hours of bass infused beauty. He is a man of bold sights, sounds, and ideologies and he did not dissapoint.
