Poor Man’s Whiskey – February 24th – The Oriental Theater

Dark Side of the Moonshine. Sounds intriguing, right? One may ask, “what is this, exactly?” This is what Poor Man’s Whiskey has dubbed their performances of the classic Pink Floyd album, Dark Side of the Moon. The cherry on the top of this much talked about show was that Michael Kang (String Cheese Incident) was going to play with the group. The first set would consist of Poor Man’s Whiskey originals while the second would be “Dark Side of the Moonshine.” We would all have to patiently wait for our dessert.

Jerry Joseph & Wally Ingram – December 8th – The Bluebird Theatre

It was quiet at The Bluebird Theatre last Thursday night when Jerry Joseph & Wally Ingram were on the bill, but it was far from dead. Walking in to the sparsely attended show gave us the feeling of crashing a private party. Everyone seemed to know each other and there was a looseness and intimacy to the entire evening both onstage and off. Throughout the evening the duo focused on a stripped down and raw sound that seemed to come straight from the gut.

Dead Winter Carpenters – August 4th – Cervantes’ Other Side

While the night got off to a bit of slow start at Cervantes’ Other Side, Last sheet on the Roll delivered some well played traditional Bluegrass to ease us into a high energy, dance-filled Thursday night set courtesy of Dead Winter Carpenters. With some strong originals and smartly chosen covers, the evening’s headliners won over a host of new fans in Denver.
