The White Buffalo & Chuck Ragan – April 12th – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

Bearded and tattooed men filled into the Gothic Theatre last Saturday night for a dual-headlining show with rowdy rockers The White Buffalo and Chuck Ragan & the Camaraderie. The beer went down like water but the crowd energy didn’t quite reflect it. Based on White Buffalo shows past, many in the crowd had their papers in order in case they didn’t make it out of this one alive, but it turned out that wasn’t necessary.

Russian Circles – March 1st – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

This was the perfect Russian Circles show for a newer fan or someone who hasn’t seen the band in years. With nothing more than stark white backlighting most of the night, the trio flawlessly worked their way through at least one song from each of their studio albums, stretching out enough to make their ten song song set last ninety minutes. There were no mosh pits, no shirtless fans, and few if any signs of the horns the entire night, but the band was met with great enthusiasm.

The Wood Brothers – December 7th – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

The Wood Brothers brought warmth and comfort to their Denver audience on what was a glacial evening last Saturday at the Gothic. The venue was aglow with sunny faces reddened from the night’s below-freezing temperatures. Rejuvenating, inspiring, and totally awesome was the trio who brought us everything from Bluegrass to Funk. Together, they are a special kind of live act: you might not have heard of them before, but within minutes of joining their audience you’ll feel like you’ve been a fan for many years.

Fitz and the Tantrums – June 14th – Gothic Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

A sea of people glimmered and gleamed in the overflowing Gothic Theatre last Friday for the dynamic indie-pop group, Fitz and the Tantrums. As packed as this sold out show was, no one pushed, no one shoved, and all awaited Fitz and his Tantrums anxiously; channeling their inner sardines, no one budged. The LA-based band flew through their Denver show without missing a beat; their dynamism ending with the same energy it began. Overall, the show was like a fantastic disco party.
