PICK OF THE WEEK: Analog Son – Fox Theatre & Ophelia’s – Friday, February 26th & Saturday, February 27th

Denver-based trippy funk duo Analog Son will play two local shows at the end of February with special guest Jason Hann (EOTO, The String Cheese Incident). On Friday, February 26th, the former Kinetix members bring their own taste of funky fresh music to Boulder’s legendary Fox Theatre, and to Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver the following night, Saturday, February 27th.

John Butler Trio – June 6th – Red Rocks Ampitheatre

Australia’s own “John Butler Trio” brought their folksy jams to Colorado’s world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday night, as part of a two show run here in the Denver area. Night one took place in Boulder, at the intimate Fox Theatre, while the Red Rocks show took on a spiritual feel even before Butler took the stage and continued throughout evening. JBT came out focused, playing a tight and emotionally raw show for their fans who responded in kind.

The Disco Biscuits – January 25th – 1stBank Center

After two nights at the jam packed Ogden Theatre it is safe to say that most were looking forward to a change in scenery and shifting gears into Arena Biscuit mode for “Bisco Inferno – Winter Edition” at the 1stBank Center. Over the course of two sets heavy on Biscuits favorites, on Saturday the band proved they had reached a level of precision and creativity that fans have not heard in quite some time.

Robert Walter’s 20th Congress – August 17th – The Fox Theatre

With Pretty Lights at Red Rocks and The Arise Festival in Loveland, Boulder felt like a ghost town. That didn’t stop those in attendance at The Fox Theater from taking in a night of Soul, Funk, and Jazz from keyboard master Robert Walter and openers Fox Street Allstars. While it was a bit of a disappointment to walk into an empty room, things did fill up a bit and it was nice to enjoy the impeccable sound at The Fox without being slammed in shoulder to shoulder with other sweaty music fans.
