John Butler Trio – June 10th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The heat was no match for fans as they made their way into Red Rocks for John Butler Trio’s fourth headlining show at the historic amphitheater. The evening’s lineup was made up of some of Australia’s best artists and, according to Bulter, it was “the first time an all-Australian lineup has played the Red Rocks stage,” which generated a roaring response from the sold-out crowd.

John Butler Trio – June 6th – Red Rocks Ampitheatre

Australia’s own “John Butler Trio” brought their folksy jams to Colorado’s world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday night, as part of a two show run here in the Denver area. Night one took place in Boulder, at the intimate Fox Theatre, while the Red Rocks show took on a spiritual feel even before Butler took the stage and continued throughout evening. JBT came out focused, playing a tight and emotionally raw show for their fans who responded in kind.

Rocky Mountain Folks Festival – August 17th & 18th – Lyons, CO

This year’s Rocky Mountain Folks Festival featured marquee names like John Butler Trio, Patty Griffin and John Prine but it was the lesser known acts like Seryn, Foy Vance, Nathaniel Rateliff and Charles Bradley that really wow’d the faithful crowd. Word on the street months before the festival was that the organizers and staff of Planet Bluegrass were more excited by the acts this year than they had been at any time in recent memory, and they just may have been right on!
