Estimated read time 5 min read

Last week, the Chicago Soul powerhouse of JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound rolled into The Larimer Lounge for the second time this year and while this show didn’t pack quite the punch of their April throw-down, it did showcase Brooks’ amazing stage presence and vocal prowess as the group plowed through a 90 minute set for a modest school night crowd. The band seamlessly segued from banging dance numbers to soulful slow jams and Brooks never slowed the constant patter of witty and fast paced banter between songs.
