Pickwick – January 16th – Bluebird Theatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

While not packed to the gills, there was a good crowd in The Bluebird last Thursday when Seattle’s Pickwick made a stop in Denver. While trending toward hipster looking 20-somethings, all ages were represented and a good number of those in attendance knew most of the words to the Soul steeped Indie-Rock that was pumping from the PA. The high energy set focused on tracks from the band’s most recent release and while most were delivered flawlessly, there were a few missteps.

Pickwick & Tommy Malone – May 8th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

Catching a show at eTown Hall feels a bit like going to church on a Sunday morning. A good amount of this probably due to the fact that eTown Hall is a renovated church building but the community feel of the venue also contributes to that feeling. Last week’s eTown taping featured Seattle’s Pickwick and Subdudes frontman Tommy Malone. Though it won’t hit the airwaves for a month or two, you won’t want to miss this one when it’s heard by over a million listeners across the country.

Pickwick – March 19th – The Bluebird

Estimated read time 4 min read

From the opening notes of “Brother Roland” until the final echoes of “Windowsill” died away, the audience was completely invested in the performance and it was clear that the boys in Pickwick were having the time of their lives. Only occasionally picking up a tambourine, frontman Galen Disston worked the stage, and the mic, like a seasoned veteran as he poured himself into each and every song the band cranked through.

Telluride Blues & Brews – September 14th-16th – Telluride Town Park

Estimated read time 17 min read

Seven hours Southwest of Denver, nestled in a box canyon surrounded by steep cliffs and Aspen trees, lies an old mining town that has been the setting for many a magical musical memory. As its name implies, the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival was started 19 years ago to celebrate craft beer and a specific genre of music; but over the years the festival line-up has became more diverse, and this year’s festivities raised the bar and established Telluride Blues and Brews as a festival that ANY music lover would want to attend.
