Lake Street Dive & Eilen Jewell – March 23rd – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 2 min read

The sun was setting and parking was hard to come by, but as the casually dressed crowd strolled into a packed eTown Hall in Boulder Sunday night, it felt like the room was abuzz with more than the regular show anticipation. Lake Street Dive & Eilen Jewell wowed the crowd with the former quartet displaying their musical talents and range with a show that was equally superb in musicianship and stage presence as the later delivered a decidedly cool mix of Country/Rockabilly/Folk style songs.

String Cheese Incident – October 26th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

Outside eTown Hall on Saturday night there was none of the usual commotion of a String Cheese Incident show. There were very few people outside on the street, there were no fingers in the air, and not a single person selling beers or grilled cheese. In short it was a bit disorienting. Though the event wasn’t publicized in advance outside a select group of invitees, a few hardcore fans had made it in the door and were a welcomed sight up along the lip of the stage as they danced, sang and pumped their fists in the air all night.

Joe Pug and Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer – May 23rd – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 4 min read

eTown Hall, the home base of the nationally syndicated eTown radio broadcast, was the scene of yet another outstanding pair of artists last month, Joe Pug and Anais Mitchell. Neither artist is a stranger to Colorado, but seeing them on the same stage back-to-back, with interviews in the mix, made for an extra special show for no more than 200 lucky fans.

Pickwick & Tommy Malone – May 8th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

Catching a show at eTown Hall feels a bit like going to church on a Sunday morning. A good amount of this probably due to the fact that eTown Hall is a renovated church building but the community feel of the venue also contributes to that feeling. Last week’s eTown taping featured Seattle’s Pickwick and Subdudes frontman Tommy Malone. Though it won’t hit the airwaves for a month or two, you won’t want to miss this one when it’s heard by over a million listeners across the country.

ALO & Kate Earl – November 18th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 4 min read

The light from the large windows on the church turned venue known as eTown Hall poured out into the pitch black Boulder neighborhood for a sold out eTown show with ALO and Kate Earl as families got their houses ready for The Holidays. Though the crowd was not what we expected for one of Southern California’s premiere party bands, eTown never disappoints! From the first notes of “Dead Still Dance,” through the rousing version of “Proud Mary” that closed the night, the musicians gave it their all.

Pokey LaFarge with Shovels & Rope – September 18th – eTown Hall

Estimated read time 5 min read

Last week a pair of up and coming Americana acts, Pokey LaFarge and his band The South City Three, and Shovels & Rope, joined forces in eTown to deliver an evening of fantastic music in the new eTown Hall. While the venue is still a work in progress, both groups were tight as they ran through swinging originals in their own sets and a great cover of Chuck Berry’s “30 Days” to wrap up the night together. eTown was the place to be last Tuesday!
