The Tallest Man on Earth – March 22nd – Gothic Theatre

Last Tuesday marked the Denver return of The Tallest Man on Earth. I’ve been waiting to see Kristian Matsson (aka The Tallest Man on Earth) for quite a while now. I had seen him in 2013, missed him in 2015, and I was eagerly anticipating his September 2019 show at The Mission Ballroom but that got cancelled (before we got used to EVERYTHING be cancelled ALL THE TIME), so when this show was announced, I knew I couldn’t miss it.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – December 17th – Mission Ballroom

While it is billed as “the 6th annual 10th annual holiday shows” and Nathaniel Rateliff himself admitted from the stage of the Mission he couldn’t remember how many of his holiday shows had gone down over the years, I know that back in 2013 I was at the first holiday show to feature The Night Sweats and since then, I’ve been hooked.

In the song “Bad Luck,” Mike Ness sings, “Thirteen’s my lucky number, /To you it means stay inside. /Black cat done crossed my path, /No reason to run and hide.” I feel bad for the people with Triskaidekaphobia, because they missed one hell of a split bill on Friday the 13th.
