The Boulder Brahs were out in full force at The Fox last week and, combined with the usual Disco Biscuits faithful, a sizable crowd assembled considering it was a Wednesday night during summer break. The Hill was blowing with leaves and concertgoers this past Friday night as college kids trickled into Boulder’s Fox Theatre for the spacious dark Folk of Oklahoma’s Other Lives. Dobro tone that Jerry (Douglas or Garcia) would love? Distortion Pedals? Grit and attitude from a Whiskey soaked card game? Rock-n-Roll vibe? Indeed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The White Buffalo – March 24th – The Fox Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

The White Buffalo has been playing for a while, so he is not new on the scene, but he is new to overpowering it. When The White Buffalo is in the room, he casts a shadow upon those around him. It is not his physical stature, which is formidable, but the raw emotion he pours out in his songs and playing. Simply put it’s his presence that is the most commanding. Opening with “Carnage,” he foreshadowed the night ahead, as he trampled the audience, stole our souls, and left our bodies just lying there.

Funk, Soul, and Reggae were just a few of musical influences that Deputy wove together over the course of this amazing evening.
