Lance Herbstrong Talks Meth Breakfast & Wakarusa

The trio known as Lance Herbstrong have just returned from playing Mayan Holidaze in Mexico where they shared the stage with The Disco Biscuits, Umphrey’s McGee, and STS9. Back from beach blanket bingo, they just dropped their second album, and have already begun work on their third. At home in Austin, Kamal Soliman took a rare free moment to talk to us at Listen Up Denver! about Meth for Breakfast, Colorful Colorado, and the Wakarusa Music Festival.

Jonah Wisneski – September 16th – The Larimer Lounge

The Larimer Lounge hosted the CD release party for Jonah Wisneski’s debut album Light on Friday night and Wisneski pulled out all the stops for the celebration of his first solo record. Members of The Fox Street All Stars and Kinetix helped Wisneski and his Band of Randoms present the long slaved over material. It was clear from the get go that a lot of time and effort was put into these songs and they were played with pride.

The last few times Isbell has come through town he’s stopped at The Bluebird, so the intimacy of The Larimer will be a welcome change for fans. The gritty feel of room pairs well with Isbell’s country tinged barroom rock. It’s sure to a packed house so even if his music isn’t necessarily your thing, it’s sure to be a good time at a great little club.
