Poor Man’s Whiskey – February 24th – The Oriental Theater
Dark Side of the Moonshine. Sounds intriguing, right? One may ask, “what is this, exactly?” This is what Poor Man’s Whiskey has dubbed their performances of the classic Pink Floyd album, Dark Side of the Moon. The cherry on the top of this much talked about show was that Michael Kang (String Cheese Incident) was going to play with the group. The first set would consist of Poor Man’s Whiskey originals while the second would be “Dark Side of the Moonshine.” We would all have to patiently wait for our dessert.
Kyle Hollingsworth Band (feat. Michael Kang) – November 19th – Cervantes’ Ballroom
Colorado loves it’s Cheese and the fact that Kyle Hollingsworth was going to be playing with his SCI cohort Michael Kang was almost too much for some eager fans to handle at Cervantes’ last Saturday! This incarnation of KHB brought the positivity and brightness of SCI, but they focused on the funk that Kyle brings to the Cheese party for well over two hours. It was an infectious night of funk.
Kyle Hollingsworth Talks Brewing & A Possible SCI West Coast Tour
As he prepped for a pair of shows this weekend and a full 14 show tour with String Cheese Incident, keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth took sometime to answer some questions for us here at Listen Up Denver! He talked about working with Dry Dock and Odell’s to brew two new beers, writing new material, and even the possibility that SCI will do more touring in the near future.

YarmonyGrass – August 5th & 6th – Rancho Del Rio
A weekend of near perfect weather and a plethora of Bluegrass and Americana music made for an amazing weekend at Rancho Del Rio. Doctors, lawyers, students, nomads in search of music, first generation hippies, new school music lovers, and kids and their parents all came together to forget their worries and boogie down on the banks of the Colorado River with the likes of Peter Rowan, Emmitt-Nershi Band, Greensky Bluegrass, and Head For The Hills.
