Stanton Moore is a busy man. When we caught up with him just before the blissful insanity that is the New Orleans Jazz Fest, he was preparing for thirty gigs in eleven days. But there will be no rest for Mr. Moore even as Jazz Fest has now come to a close. The tireless drummer will be hitting the road with a new super group dubbed The M&Ms and they will be stopping in Denver for two shows at Cervantes’ this weekend!

PICK OF THE WEEK: Fox Street Allstars (Album Release) – The Larimer Lounge – March 2nd

Make no mistake, the Fox Street Allstars reek of the roadhouses and West Texas honky-tonks of the Deep South that inspired their signature sound. The band brings an all-out-party to every show by pouring their hearts and souls into every note. No one really has any idea where front man Jonathan “Skippy” Huvard channels his soulful, whiskey soaked vocals and frenetic stage presence but the result is a blistering powerhouse of sound.

Bill Kreutzmann of Grateful Dead fame brings his new band, 7 Walkers, to the Gothic Theatre on Friday night for a night of classic Bay Area rock and New Orleans funk. While the band, that also features Papa Mali, is sure to run through a majority of their self titled debut album, they will also delve deep in the catalog of Grateful Dead favorites to keep everyone dancing late into the night.
