Phish bassist Mike Gordon returns to the road with his band which includes longtime collaborators Scott Murawski and Craig Myers, organ and synth-master Robert Walter and sharp-shooter John Kimock on drums. This is going to be a night of music you don’t want to miss!
With Pretty Lights at Red Rocks and The Arise Festival in Loveland, Boulder felt like a ghost town. That didn’t stop those in attendance at The Fox Theater from taking in a night of Soul, Funk, and Jazz from keyboard master Robert Walter and openers Fox Street Allstars. While it was a bit of a disappointment to walk into an empty room, things did fill up a bit and it was nice to enjoy the impeccable sound at The Fox without being slammed in shoulder to shoulder with other sweaty music fans.
For 20 years, Robert Walter has been pulling drawbars and pushing the limits of the Hammond B3 organ. As a founding member of The Greyboy Allstars, he helped usher in the funk-jazz renaissance of the early ’90s. The Fox Street Allstars reek of the roadhouses and West Texas honky-tonks of the deep south. The band brings an all-out-party to every show by pouring their hearts and souls into every note.
