Electron – January 17th – Gothic Theater

South Broadway was buzzing as Electron closed out their 4 night Colorado run with a sold-out show at The Gothic Theatre. The super group featuring Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits, Tom Hamilton, and Mike Greenfield brought the heat and delighted fans with a mix of Disco Biscuit songs as well as a few Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead covers thrown into the mix. With a packed house and anticipation levels high after rave reviews of the previous three nights, the crowd was hyped and the band did not disappoint.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival – June 19th-22nd – Telluride, CO

Telluride Bluegrass. Once you’ve been there, whether it’s for a day, a week, or forty consecutive years, it becomes part of you. It’s the smiles on the faces of the performers as they look out from the stage over the most beautiful landscape their songs and melodies have ever echoed across. It is the meticulous, almost anal-retentive, organization of the event that somehow translates to a vibe conducive to dancing and singing and a passionately laid-back attitude from some of the most fervent music lovers anywhere.

Furthur – October 1st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Furthur set up shop at Red Rocks for three nights this past weekend and unfortunately Saturday nights show was a bit on the sloppy side. While the song selection was pretty good and featured some gems from the Dead catalog including “St. Stephen,” “Dark Star,” “Playin’ In The Band,” and “Uncle John’s Band,” the band literally seemed to be on different sheets of music at times. Sure we all had a good time, but I guess I was just expecting more
