Matador! Soul Sounds, keeps pumping out new material and adding tour dates! Today the band is releasing a live video recorded at Eddie Roberts’ new creative hub Color Red Studios in Denver, CO. They also will be back in the US after their European Summer dates in the Fall.

If you aren’t familiar, the band consists of the dream team of Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Alan Evans (Soulive) alongside keyboardist Chris Spies and bassist Kevin Scott. Rounding out the already killer line-up are vocalists Kimberly Dawson (Pimps of Joytime) and Adryon de León (Orgone) bringing their soulful and powerful energy to the mix. Combining the dynamism of each band leader, the music they have created is brand new, hard hitting and drenched with their shared musical passions – jazz, funk & soul.

Eddie Roberts has been hard at work over the past few months developing a new music platform and recording studio called Color Red based in his hometown of Denver, CO. Color Red, though at it’s humble beginnings, is the culmination of the careers of Eddie and his team. “Go On, Love” is the first video recorded at the hub, and produced and released under the new multimedia platform that will launch this summer at color-red.co. Be on the lookout for more from Color Red in the next few months and don’t miss the label launch party at Cervantes on September 28th!

Here’s what the band members have to say about the song and the experience at Color Red.

“This song is a perfect example of why I love this band so much.  Everyone has such distinct personalities and voices that I could clearly feel and hear when I wrote the music for this song.  I also knew Kim and Adryon would come up with the perfect melodic and lyrical content.  I love this song, this band and I know you will too!!!” – Alan Evans

“This song and video represents the coming together of many things for me. My new band, recording a new song, in my new studio, for my new label. This was the culmination of months of work and is the very first recording in Color Red Studios, for Color Red Records. It also happens to be a beautiful song written by Alan, Kim & Adryon!” – Eddie Roberts

“To write and record with these guys is so easy it’s scary.  Everyone brings their own vibe to what they contribute to the song.  Everyone has enough experience to know when to listen and when to contribute.” – Kevin Scott

“Al came through with a solid rhythm idea and Kim & I ran with it- my personal favorite Matador recording to date!” – Adryon de Leon

Capturing life in various forms is what I do. I consider myself an archivist by nature. It is not a career choice that I consciously made, but it is something that has called me. I strive to freeze a moment in time with every frame, a moment that can retell its story with each viewing, forever. I also have a deep passion for music and have been photographing and recording live music for years. Capturing the energy and magic of a live performance in a photograph is one of my passions. In addition, I enjoy photographing in a wide variety of settings, from wildlife scenes to family portraits and everything in between. I am a lover of the earthscapes that we see all around us every day, both natural and manmade, and aim to make unique images that do justice to their beauty. Where others see darkness, I see streaks of light through long exposures.

I shoot a very wide variety of subject matter including individual/family portraits, event coverage, landscapes, live concert/performance, HDR, product and commercial photography, architectural, weddings, food, and editorial photo journalism. With artistic expression, I aspire to create visual art that speaks volumes.
