My Morning Jacket – August 14th – Red Rocks
From the opening notes of “Wordless Chorus” to the closing feedback of “One Big Holiday,” My Morning Jacket dug deep into their vault on Friday night, touching on all seven of their studio releases. As always, the band was dressed to the nines, and Jim James, The Jacket’s charismatic front man, prowled the stage in a black and neon jacket, eyes concealed by oversized sunglasses. Gracefully tiptoeing the line between pure rock and roll and jamband, MMJ proved yet again why many call them the best live band in the business.

The War On Drugs – October 10th – Ogden Theatre
Adam Granduciel (aka The War On Drugs) took the stage on Friday night before a packed house at The Ogden Theatre and dazzled the crowd with a set that included nearly every song on his stand-out recent release ‘Lost In The Dream.’ Not only did they recreate the layers and atmospheric sounds that are so pervasive on the record, but they pushed the songs to the limit with extended jams and Granduciel’s guitar solos.

Amos Lee & The Colorado Symphony – August 1st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre
It was a gorgeous summer night at Red Rocks this past Friday and fifty-year-old white women waited in long lines to buy Beringer white wine. And buy it they did. As the night progressed the blouse wearing masses yapped, sipped and sang. The sky changed colors over the sold-out rocks and the crowd found their seats early for another magical collaboration with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
20 Questions with Tiger Party featuring “Made of Stars” Exclusive
Crashing into the local music scene like a wild animal, Tiger Party is the latest and greatest Electro/Funk/Jam superband to spring up in Denver. The “collaborative music project” is an amalgamation of influences and talents. Led by keyboardist Blake Mobely, the group has talent from the likes of STS9, Lotus and The Motet (just to name a few) and seems to impress Denver more and more with each performance. Their second album, “Made of Stars” is set to be released July 12th and we have an exclusive track to share…
20 Questions with The Crooked Streets
From Open Mic night to editor’s pick, Mathias Olson has come along way to find himself on the beat of The Crooked Streets. The band formed in 2011 when the singer/songwriter decided to take his solo project to the next level. Three years and several craigslist ads later, he now fronts the five-piece Denver Indie Folk band that many locals have come to love. Their crooning gypsy sound is gritty but has a certain charm–the shabby chic sort of feel that is so common of the great modern Indie Folk groups of our time.
Telluride Blues & Brews Festival – September 14th – Telluride (Part 2)
Day two of the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival features The Grand Tasting, where thousands of concert goers swill free craft beer for hours, in order to determine the best beer in the box canyon that Saturday. Mud splattered and squished as festival goers wet their whistles with the wares of over 50 craft Breweries. We are excited to say that our buddies over at Telluride Brewing Company were the “Best of Fest-Grand Tasting Champions” this year!!!
