From the psychedelic folk-rock of Neil Young, to the hard edged power-pop of The Who, to the R&B influences that litter The Stones “Sticky Fingers,” Anders Osborne, Rose Hill Drive, and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe treated the costumed masses at The Fillmore to a musical history lesson sorts on Monday night and topped it all of with some good ol’ fashioned funk. It was a Halloween party for the ages, literally!
Roger Daltrey has one of rock’s most legendary voices’ but he doesn’t take it for granted. In March Roger Daltrey performed The Who’s rock opera Tommy at a Royal Albert Hall benefit for the Teenage Cancer Trust and this Sunday Daltrey will return to the Front Range to perform the epic project in it’s entirety at the 1st Bank Center.
Though his albums are very solid, it is damn near impossible to catch lighting in a bottle and the only way to truly experience what guitar young phenom Davy Knowles is capable of is to see him live. He has played with Pete Townshend, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck and Warren Haynes, and, if there is any justice in the world, his name will soon be mentioned in the same breath as any one of these legends.
