Eva Hollbrook of SHEL Talks Family, Folk, and Zeppelin

Estimated read time 13 min read

Just outside of Fort Collins, four sisters fill a family home with sounds only siblings could make. Combining Classical structure with Folk lyrics, Country catchiness, Bluegrass beauty and an intense passion, SHEL (Sarah, Hannah, Eva, Liza) is band full of depth and delight. Only one album deep into what is sure to be a lengthy career, SHEL has already found success without necessarily looking for it. The Polyphonic Spree – April 10th – The Bluebird

Estimated read time 5 min read

The energy and passion that The Polyphonic Spree threw out last Tuesday at The Bluebird was overwhelming and the crowd threw it right back. The lights that shone from the stage into the audience seemed to distort objects and people. By the end of the band’s two hour set, we would have gladly donned a robe and gotten on the bus with them. They may not be a “religious” band, but they definitely tap into a spiritual side of life. Praises to love, life, and the sun were sung with a Pentecostal revivalist snake charming fervor.
