Trey Anastasio Band – May 22nd – Red Rocks Amphitheater

Estimated read time 4 min read

Is every Sunday show an epic throwdown that you shouldn’t have missed? The short answer is “no” but it’s understandable that people want to feel like they were rewarded for going out on a Sunday night and catching a marathon performance. Trey Anastasio and his supremely talented band turned in nearly three hours of music on Sunday and, despite the early start time, it was likely midnight before many in the capacity crowd made it home.

Trey Anastasio Band – May 31st – Red Rocks

Estimated read time 2 min read

Trey Anastasio, legendary guitarist for Phish, stopped into Red Rocks for the first time since 2009 (and first time with TAB since 2005) and there’s no doubt he was happy to be back. Anastasio’s grin was a near permanent fixture from the first time he appeared on stage to sit in with Vulfpeck for a take on “Rango” early in the night, till the final notes of “Dazed and Confused” reverberated off the rocks and disappeared into the night air.

Phish – September 2nd – Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

Estimated read time 4 min read

While most concert scenes can be relatively predictable in terms of who is going to show up, if there is one scene that has become as predictable as June Cleaver it’s Phish at Dick’s. The energy in the air is palpable as the Vermont quartet has built up a long history of largely stellar performances at the soccer stadium and the Shakedown is a wild open air market offering up all kinds of lot goods from the most insane Mac & Cheese subs (yes, I said Mac & Cheese subs) courtesy of The Gouda Boys, to your standard lyric tees and heady glass.

Phish – January 15th, 16th, & 17th – Riviera Maya, Mexico

Estimated read time 6 min read

Three shows over the course of three nights is not an uncommon thing for Phish – but to do it in a tropical paradise, right on the beach, in a customized venue . . . well that’s special! It’s been a long time since phans had an international destination to travel to for a run of shows (June 2000 in Japan to be exact), and Trey, Mike, Page and Fish made it well worth everyone’s time over the course of these three magical nights in Mexico.
