In a state where we are fortunate enough to have some of the most beautiful venues to hear music in, The Denver Botanic Gardens is right up there on the list alongside Red Rocks, The Mish, and Planet Bluegrass. It’s picturesque gardens and lush, “in the round” grass amphitheater, is an almost ideal place to enjoy a summertime concert and last week a modest crowd gathered with their picnics for a folky evening with The Milk Carton Kids and Josh Ritter.
The 21st annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival was another smashing success as it sold-out in advance for the second year in a row thanks to yet another outstanding line-up put together by the good people over at Planet Bluegrass. With stellar performances from Dan Mangan, Mary Gauthier, Josh Ritter, Bob Weir, Chris Robinson, & Jackie Greene and more, it was truly a wonderful weekend in Lyons.
