Billy Strings – December 13th & 14th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 5 min read

This past weekend, the Denver music community helped usher one of the best young players in the country to the next level. Back in September, when it was announced that Billy Strings would be playing two nights at The Ogden, the buzz was deafening but people were initially skeptical that he would sell out both shows. Well, tickets went on sale and disappeared so quickly that AEG added a third night and, guess what, those vanished as well. In mere minutes, Strings sold out three nights at the venerable Colfax theater.

Jackson Browne – August 22nd – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 1 min read

A near capacity audience was treated to a night with Jackson Browne last Monday. The acclaimed singer song writer is currently on his 2016 summer tour bringing his signature sound to the masses and, like always, Red Rocks elevated the experience. Seemingly every song was followed by standing ovations, leaving no doubt that the audience left satisfied after their night with the music legend. Enjoy the photos from this magical performance!

Gregg Allman – October 13th – Boulder Theater

Estimated read time 4 min read

The Boulder Theater was charged last Tuesday night as longtime fans waited for the legendary Gregg Allman to take the stage before the nearly capacity crowd. While the majority of those who packed the beautiful Art Deco theater were silver haired and pushing 60 (and with seated tickets on the lower level priced at $90, that’s not a surprise) there was a healthy contingent of younger fans who had no doubt been brought up on Allman’s music and wanted to check this one off the bucket list.

Rocky Mountain Folks Festival – August 17th, 18th, 19th – Planet Bluegrass Ranch, Lyons, CO

Estimated read time 13 min read

I think it’s become a goal of the team up at Planet Bluegrass to out-do themselves from year to year with the line-up of the Folks Festival. While last year featured headliners Jackson Browne, The Weir Robinson Greene Trio, and Brandi Carlile, this year brought Iron & Wine, Amos Lee, and Lyle Lovett to the intimate stage by the river in Lyons and each one mesmerized and surprised as they entertained the sold-out crowd.

Blitzen Trapper & Dawes – November 7th – The Fox Theatre

Estimated read time 8 min read

On Monday night at The Fox, LA band Dawes played one of the most impressive rock shows I have witnessed in years. No, they didn’t have the production value of Roger Waters’ “The Wall” performance or the raw, testosterone fueled, energy of a Rage Against The Machine show, but what they did have was a staggering amount of musical talent. It was simply overflowing from these four men as they put on a clinic on how to be the best band you can be.

Dawes Proves Everything Is Good With The Release Of “Nothing Is Wrong”

Estimated read time 2 min read

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind year for Los Angeles rock band Dawes. They have released their stellar sophomore album Nothing Is Wrong, toured with Allison Krauss, and performed as the backing band for legends Robbie Robertson and Jackson Browne. In a recent interview, nonchalant frontman Taylor Goldsmith made it sound like it is all in a day’s work for him and his three bandmates.
