The New Mastersounds – November 16th & 17th – Cervantes’

Estimated read time 5 min read

When The New Mastersounds roll into town, the Funk fans come out of the woodwork and last weekend at Cervantes’ was no different when the band stopped in Denver and played both sides of the Welton street club. On Friday night The Ballroom was full, but not packed while on Saturday night The Other Side was like being in a washing machine during the Spin Cycle as everyone jostled together and spun each other around all night long as the energy seemed to keep climbing. It was mayhem, pure, blissful mayhem.

ill.Gates has consistently been on the forefront of the EDM scene, both producing and educating upstart musicians throughout the last decade and last Thursday night he preached the good word of music to a willing congregation at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on his Church of Bass Tour. Debuting his new light setup, he managed to run his own audio and visual at the same time, and kept the crowd bouncing for 2 hours of bass infused beauty. He is a man of bold sights, sounds, and ideologies and he did not dissapoint.

Kraddy – October 4th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

Estimated read time 6 min read

Certainly no stranger to the Colorado EDM scene, L.A. based producer Kraddy made a triumphant return to Denver last week and gave the crowd the Hip- Hop/Funk/Dancehall experience they were looking for. The man has no lack of swagger, and he casually strolled, laptop and MIDI controller in hand, to the stage a few minutes after a manic Run DMT set had come to a close. On this night, Kraddy garnered much favor and fervor from the crowd, and for that reason we will always welcome his beats and preference for heavy sound back to our city.
