Rob Drabkin’s Birthday Bash – January 19th – The Bluebird Theatre

For the third year in a row Drabkin put on a birthday concert which united his family, friends and fans at a packed Bluebird Theatre. While Drabkin can be usually be seen on stages playing by his lonesome, or with a stripped down band since he is of the singer-songwriter class…on Saturday he brought out the big guns for his birthday bash. Drabkin’s enthusiasm beamed from his face the entire night, and the crowd returned the favor. Birthday or no, this big-haired boy can put on a hell of a show.

SunSquabi Talks Wakarusa and Electronic Hydro Funk

Producer and guitarist Kevin Donahue, and bassist Andrew Clymer, have played in countless bands together over the last several years, including a recent stint performing with Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, but they grew tired of playing other people’s songs. Looking for something new, they ended up forming Electronic Hydro Funk band SunSquabi. Kung Fu – February 2nd – The Fox Theatre

Despite the news of a major snowstorm headed for the Front Range, many people came out in the snow and freezing temperatures to check out the relatively newer supergroup, Kung Fu. While most who made the trek to The Fox had never seen Kung Fu, there was still quite a buzz about these guys since they had already amazed other area crowds at shows earlier on their Occupy Colorado tour. We can only hope that the sounds of Kung Fu will occupy our ears and hearts again very soon.
