Cirque Side of the Moon – February 8th – Casselman’s

Producer Gabriel Selko and Moth Poetic Circus decided to start Mardi Gras four days early this year by bringing a spectacle that was a year in the making called The Cirque Side of the Moon to Casselman’s on February 8th. It was a world of a world of voodoo, circus, music, enchantment, and excess and the crowd came dressed to impress. Adorned in makeup, feathers, masks, and of course green, gold and purple beads eye candy was everywhere you looked.

Victor Wooten – February 9th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

Victor Wooten’s show at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom was less about the five-time Grammy award-winning bassist, and more about his “new band, new sound, and new experience.” Wooten, as promised to his fans, wowed the audience with dazzling solos but he also allowed his band to steal a piece of the stage and showcase their skills as well. As the band blended Funk and Jazz it soon became clear why this kind of musical exploration took place beneath a giant Disco ball.

MOTH Poetic Circus Presents: Cirque Side Of The Moon

On Friday February 8th, Mardi Gras starts four days early when MOTH Poetic Circus brings you The Cirque Side of the Moon. This Voodoo Mardi Gras masquerade party has taken nearly a year from inception to fruition. MOTH Poetic Circus combines high level circus, dance and athleticism with live music and art. Aerialists, Chinese Pole performers, acrobats, contortionists, and dancers will accompany Wish We Were Floyd as they play Dark Side of the Moon live in its entirety.

Austin City Limits Music Festival – October 12th-14th – Austin, TX

Austin Texas is commonly known as the “Live Music Capital of The World” and since 1976 the great live music program “Austin City Limits” has aired on PBS. Though this program was originally intended to showcase the music of Texas it has grown exponentially and eventually blossomed into the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It’s only been 11 years, but ACL has gained a reputation as the premiere music lover’s festival and has cemented Austin as the greatest music town in the universe.

Wakarusa – Mulberry Mountain, AR – Part 1

Two weekends ago, Wakarusa, and it’s army of party people and music lovers, lit up Mulberry Mountain in Arkansas. With acts ranging from The Weir, Robinson, Greene Acoustic Trio, to the electro madness of Pretty Lights, the festival offered something for everyone. This year a diverse line up of 14 bands took to the stage situated next to the Arkansas River and in the shadow of the Collegiate Peaks from July 28th – July 30th. Staying with tradition, CPMF remains a celebration of Colorado by featuring some of the best bands from around the state. Additionally, the festival recruits an eclectic selection of touring bands from all over the US.

Fort Knox Five – March 25th – Cervantes
