Elephant Revival – November 8th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

Elephant Revival fans know they are going to get an experience, not just a show, and that experience could be classified as near spiritual. Not religious by any means,, but there is a special energy that I only experience at an Elephant Revival show, and everytime I see them I feel as if I “come-to” once the show is over. Well this night was no different, and I felt as if I were transported somewhere else for the duration of the performance, then slowly dropped back to the balcony of The Ogden once it was over.

BoomBox – July 6th – State Bridge

Estimated read time 12 min read

There are two main subjects of this story. BoomBox the band and State Bridge Amphitheatre the venue. Although two completely separate entities, the two fused together for a night just a few days after the fourth of July. When the two members of BoomBox manned their stations on stage, it was as if a surge of electricity ran through the venue. Literally and figuratively. Yes, the crowd was excited but the beautiful intensity of the lights and sound system were catalysts as well.

Telluride lived up to the hype!!! There were howls at the “super moon,” tarp runs, tributes to one of our favorites, Levon Helm, new friends, and old friends. From The Mayor of Telluride, Mr. Sam Bush, to up-and-comers, Lake Street Dive, the music was top notch from morning till night. Was it all about the banjo? No. Was it all about music? No. Telluride Bluegrass is an experience and the best word to describe it is “legendary.”
