Anthology Fine Art recently unveiled a very special photography show entitled “Front Row: Concert Photography by Kit Chalberg.” The show is a 21-piece collection of live concert photography by Denver-based photographer Kit Chalberg who has created images of musicians such as B.B. King, Gov’t Mule, Brandi Carlile, Ziggy Marley,and Michael Franti and has worked countless other concerts over the past three years.

A healthy crowd turned out to Quixote’s on Saturday night to take a trip back in time to the summer of 1973 with some local favorites. The original Watkins Glen Summer Jam was held on July 28th of 1973 and by some accounts drew as many as 600,000 people to hear three of the most legendary bands of the era: The Grateful Dead, The Band, and The Allman Brothers. Now we all know that Denver’s rich music scene has a lot to offer, and on Saturday it offered up three bands who were up for trying to fill the shoes of these legends.

The String Cheese Incident rolled into Atlanta last night and threw down a classic setlist of gems for the sold-out crowd of rapid fans. Again, Ben Wilson of eye and eye photography was on hand, in the midst of the madness, and came out with some great shots! Looks like the band is getting settled and this tour is bound to be memorable! Great to see the Barefoot Boys out on the road again!

When America’s First Couple of The Blues first met backstage at an Allman Brothers show in 1999, the music world was buzzing with the possibility of a collaboration. But instead the years passed without more than the occasional sit-in. In 2009 the roadblocks that had prevented them from going into the studio and writing material for a new band eased a bit and the Tedeschi-Trucks Band was born.

The Ogden Theatre was a Funky Good Time on Halloween! Warren Haynes and his band switched things up a bit in honor of the holiday and after a set of material largely culled from his recent album “Man In Motion,” Haynes returned to the stage for a mind-blowing set of James Brown originals. It was a sweaty dance party and we all knew we were in the presence of greatness.
