Taj Mahal Trio – May 18th – The Boulder Theater

The Boulder Theater was full almost to the rafters Friday night for Taj Mahal’s 70th birthday party. The historic venue hosted a stellar lineup that included many leading contemporary Blues performers. Keb’ Mo’ and Taj’s own daughter, Deva Mahal ( who tore the roof off the sucker with Taj’s trio) also took the stage during the evening. The Colorado Blues Society was in the lobby along with a special 70th birthday card for Taj that was signed by most of the audience.

Keb’ Mo’ – August 7th – Denver Botanic Gardens

On a hot Sunday in Denver, Keb’ Mo’ cooled things off a bit at the Botanic Gardens with his adult-contemporary take on the blues for those of us who were lucky enough to have tickets to the sold-out show. While he didn’t focus on his roots as much as he could have, he proved he still has what takes to succeed with several outstanding new tracks that stood out as highlights of the set.
