Baur’s Listening Lounge To Bring A Unique Live Music Experience To Denver In A Historic Setting

This Sunday a new kind of music venue is opening it’s doors in Downtown Denver for the first time. This isn’t another Rock club, concert hall or amphitheater; it’s a very special “Listening Lounge” that aims to break the mold of traditional music venues in several ways and the music loving community in this town would be foolish not to embrace such a unique and consumer focused venue with open ears.

Mike Doughty – October 29th – Twist & Shout

There have been many in-stores at Twist & Shout over the years. Some, like Trey Anastasio and String Cheese Incident, were more or less ticketed affairs that saw lines stretch around the block and scalpers get top-dollar for wristbands. Others, like Tuesday’s intimate acoustic set with Mike Doughty, are much more mellow, laid back events. Though it only lasted 30 minutes, the ten song set showcased Doughty then and now and satisfied the hardcore fans in attendance.

STS9 – December 28th – Private In-Store @ Twist & Shout

Back in December our own Brian Turk got an email from someone at Twist & Shout with an invitation to a private STS9 in-store show the night before the band kicked-off their three night New Year’s run at The Fillmore. Twist & Shout is known for their exclusive and memorable in-store performances, but this one was a going to be a bit different. The stripped down and intimate show showcased a more organic presentation of STS9 material, and revealed the foundation on which this Temple of Boom is built.

Of Monsters And Men – December 12th – The Boulder Theater

On the heels of the meteoric surge in popularity Of Monsters and Men has experienced this past year as they rose from Icelandic obscurity to chart topping success in the US the sold-out Boulder Theater was packed with fans of the Icelandic pop folk group and their two unique and outstanding vocalists. The sound was good, the crowd was fun and loud, and the night was worth the cost of entry. Maybe even for those who bought tickets for a premium on Craigslist.
