Estimated read time 11 min read

Telluride lived up to the hype!!! There were howls at the “super moon,” tarp runs, tributes to one of our favorites, Levon Helm, new friends, and old friends. From The Mayor of Telluride, Mr. Sam Bush, to up-and-comers, Lake Street Dive, the music was top notch from morning till night. Was it all about the banjo? No. Was it all about music? What began as a modest line forming alongside The Ogden an hour before showtime eventually resulted in a packed, sold-out crowd filled with very friendly folks. Thursday’s audience was reflective of the evening’s music and performances. There were no gimmicks, subdued fashion taste dominated and calm, fun-loving attitudes were the norm. This combination resulted in a very relaxing environment full of well-adjusted, mature, down-to-earth music enthusiasts who weren’t trying to cause any trouble.

Trampled By Turtles – May 18th – The Ogden

Estimated read time 4 min read

The mid-western transplants came out in droves Friday night to see Trampled by Turtles (TBT) at The Ogden. The Duluth based folk-bluegrass band is touring on their new album, “Stars and Satellites” and the sold-out crowd sported their Minnesota Twins hats, overalls, and plaid – lots and lots of plaid. The beer lines were long, and the crowd had a nice buzz before the opener even hit the stage. The atmosphere had a collective excitement about it you only find at Friday night shows and the band delivered raging and precisely played show.
